The Venue

Leopard Frog Farm is a recording studio, retreat space and performance venue 20 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario outside Battersea.

The 150-year-old barn is situated on Loughborough Lake and is a great place to enjoy award-winning music in an intimate country concert experience. Surrounded by 200 acres of forests, marshes and lakefront, Leopard Frog is a haven for wildlife not least the noble and musical frog.

The recording studio is a newly renovated, light-filled space with views of the lake, providing a unique recording experience. The studio features a selection of quality microphones, pre-amplifiers, outboard processors, converters and monitors, plus an extensive collection of plug-ins and audio software. The studio has remote recording equipment suitable for recording bands, concerts and meetings on location, plus location sound recording equipment for film shoots. A variety of stringed, reed and electronic instruments are available for recording musicians visiting the studio.

The Folks

Chris Coleman (MMus) is a multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer and music producer. A scholar of music and with 30 years of recording experience, Chris has produced, engineered and mastered over 1000 songs.

Ellen Hamilton C.M. is an accomplished singer-songwriter, producer and an advocate for the performing arts. Ellen is a Member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Nunavut for her work in arts education and community development.

Chris and Ellen met in Iqaluit and formed the folk band Night Sun featuring original music and touring throughout Canada and the U.S. for 10 years. Night Sun released 6 critically-acclaimed albums.
